Burgundy Puffgrass

Grass type: Biennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This big, burgundy grass grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall. The stiff, pointed stalks grow in extensive patches that are strong and tough.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a medium-sized, washed-out orange puff.

During the early winter, it produces very little pollen, but can cause severe allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with copious amounts of medium-sized grains.

It is bio-luminescent.
It is possible to grow it from cuttings.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
