Clinging Sunburst

This small flower grows up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. Its orange-yellow stems grow from the base of the plant in bunches of 4 and are wispy and straight, and split into several branching stems three quarters of the way up, and the huge, slate and lime leaves are teardrop-shaped with smooth edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

Each stem splits 5 to 8 times; a single tiny flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 10 cm (3.9 inches) wide, with magenta petals that gradient shift to slate on the outer edge. The central disk is slate. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 20 curved petals. They are hardy.

It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like musk, and it has lots of pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is particularly attractive to a specific species.
