Coniwillow

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 19 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of sturdy, curved stems covered in smooth, dark green bark, and the wood inside is burgundy-brown.

The branches trail down to the ground with thousands of twigs that and are covered with copious amounts of miniature, very narrow and elongated, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are brilliant green and green, light and crispy.

In early summer it produces dozens of medium-sized, green blossoms with 7 shield-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have a weak scent that smells like old books.

In mid-autumn finger-like fruits ripen. The leathery hazel skin is peel-able and edible when cooked; it is sour, and the crunchy indigo flesh is bitter and very juicy. The yellow seed is large and sits at the end of the fruit.
