Aquafruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 19 feet (5.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 59 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, twisting trunk covered in very thick, wrinkled, mahogany-coloured bark, and inside, the very hard wood is dark brown.

The excessive amount of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with small bunches of large, pleated leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are crimson on the sides and lilac at the center.

In early spring, it produces many clusters of large, aquamarine blossoms with sickle shaped petals. They fall easily and have a delicate scent that smells like rotten egg.

In mid-autumn it produces tiny, oval fruit. The fuzzy cyan skin is thick and sweet and savoury, and the slightly crunchy crimson flesh is sour and syrupy. The silver seeds are large and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.
