Amber Spinefan

This short caudiciform grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The fan-like stem is yellow, and is covered in brittle bold orange spines. The straight, brown trunk can grow to as much as 2 feet (61.0 cm) in diameter in the middle. Its muted green branches are very short, thin and wispy and start growing a quarter of the way up the stem.

The large amounts of smooth-edged, very thin leaves are bold purple and amber. They are resilient, but take little effort to detach.

It is very fast growing, taking 4 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with silver petals on the lower layer and hazel petals decorated with dark brown dots on the inner layer. The central disk is red grow at the top, reappearing after 6 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is made up of 4 petals in raised layers. It has a fairly strong scent that smells like an ocean breeze.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the lime flesh is slimy, and the hazel sap is thin.
