Twisting Vine Flower

This average-sized flower grows up to 1.1 feet (33 cm) tall. Its burgundy stem is thin and straight with a curved tip, and the miniature, gray-green leaves are slender, pointed with tattered edges. The leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

Two giant flowers sit at the end of each stem. The flowers are 30 cm (11.8 inches) wide, with slate petals and a pink central disk. The flower head is shaped like a cube made up of 17 widely spaced, narrow petals. They are sturdy.

It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like rotten egg, and it has copious amounts of pollen,but it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by some specific types of insect.
