Aquafruit Tree

This short fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 79 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a slender, wonky trunk covered in wrinkled, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the light wood is copper-coloured.

The small bunches of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with small bunches of small, needle-like leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are green with aquamarine tips.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of giant, gentle yellow blossoms with finger-like petals. They detach easily and have a delicate scent that smells like marzipan.

In mid-summer it produces , wide fruit. The sticky hazel skin is delicate and inedible, and the soft indigo flesh is sweet and syrupy. The lime seeds are large and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.
