Burgundy Perforated Grass

Grass type: Perennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This modest-sized, burgundy grass grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The perforated stalks grow in thin clumps that are delicate and they overwhelm an area rapidly.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a medium-sized, vivid purple flower.

During the mid-summer, it produces very little pollen, but can cause allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with a modest amount of giant grains.

The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.

It absorbs an exceptionally large amount of water each day.
