Amber Spineplant

This short caudiciform grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The very thin stem is orange, and is covered in brittle white spines. The straight, hazel trunk can grow to as much as 1 foot (30.5 cm) in diameter at the top. Its orange-yellow branches are very short and slender and start growing three quarters of the way up the stem.

The handfuls of smooth-edged, pleated leaves are amber and slate. They are frail, but are very difficult to pull away.

It is steady-growing, taking 3 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with bronze petals and a white central disk grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 10 petals. It has a strong scent that smells like lavender.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the azure flesh is smooth, and the red sap is thin.
