Emerald Crescent Moss

This green moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas On rotten logs.
It is small, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps and they are slow to spread and grow, and is slightly flimsy; it dislikes being stepped on.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release hundred of spores.
