Carmine Fan Cactus

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This average-sized cactus grows up to 57 feet (17.4 meters) tall. It splits near the top to form 4 fan-like stems. Each stem is burgundy, and is covered in large amounts of flexible hazel spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 13 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with solid hazel petals and a cream central disk grow at the top, reappearing once every 6 years. The flower head is made up of 11 petals in raised layers. It has a weak scent that smells like perfume.

The cactus's skin is tough, the cyan flesh is smooth, and the caramel sap is thin and causes severe cramps if consumed.

Offering it in a bouquet is supposed to bring good luck.
