Starlight Trailing Blossom

This small flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its green stem is wispy and splits into dozens of branching stems a quarter of the way up, and the small, beige or hazel leaves are broad, flat with tattered edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.

Around 40 large flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with petals that are gentle yellow in the center, hazel in the middle and purple at the edges. The flower head is shaped like a star with 6 widely spaced, narrow petals. They detach easily.

It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like a damp log, and it has a modest amount of pollen. It is a self-pollinator, but is also particularly attractive to bees.
