Copper Spine Cactus

This colossal cactus grows up to 135 feet (41.1 meters) tall. The stiff, pointed stem is copper or crimson, and is dotted with small caramel spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 40 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with petals that are bronze on the edges and cyan at the center, grow at the top, reappearing after 3 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a bowl with 38 tightly layered, narrow petals. It has a faint scent that smells like wet dog.

The cactus's skin is delicate, the lime flesh is waxy, and the green sap is thin.
