Clinging Burgundy Petal
Flower type: Perennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)This short flower grows up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. Its burgundy stem is very thick, and the tiny, burgundy leaves are thick with toothed edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.
4 to 6 giant flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with petals that are blue in the center, silver in the middle and bronze at the edges. The flower head is made up of several petals in raised layers. They are sturdy.
It has a mildly strong scent that smells like cigarette smoke, and it has a modest amount of pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by some specific types of insect.
