Burgundy Creeper

This modest-sized creeper is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 33 feet (10.1 meters) and growing as high as 731 feet (222.8 meters).

It takes 2 years for the burgundy stems to mature, by which point they have often fused together into ropes with a diameter of 5 inches (13 cm) and are rough and fibrous.

The stiff, pointed, crispy leaves reach up to 5 inches (13 cm) in length. They are either dark brown, or white with purple patches, and have jagged edges.
