Burgundy Marsh Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In marshes.
It is short, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps and they are exceptionally hardy, and is overwhelmingly resistant.
When mature, emerald cylindrical capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-summer to release dozens of spores.
