Crimson Hair Cactus

This short cactus grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The asymmetrical stem is gray, and is covered in lots of fine, crimson, hair-like spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 20 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with solid peach petals decorated with cyan lines and a grey central disk grow at the top, reappearing once every 4 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 31 curved petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like honeysuckle.

The cactus's skin is very thick, the dark grey flesh is slimy, and the light brown sap is thin.
