Pink Spine Caudiciform

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This average-sized caudiciform grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall. The narrow stem is red, and is covered in thick bunches of rigid pink spines. The straight, gold trunk can grow to as much as 3 feet (91.4 cm) in diameter in the middle. Its moss green branches trail down towards the ground and start growing halfway up the stem.

The sparse amounts of irregular-edged, asymmetrical leaves are pink and light brown. They are flexible, but detach easily.

It is steady-growing, taking 3 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are aquamarine on the underside and white on the top grows at the top, reappearing once every 6 years. The flower head is largely flat with many widely spaced narrow petals. It has an intensely strong scent that smells like cheap aftershave.

The caudiciform's skin is tough, the amber flesh is smooth, and the cream sap is thin and can cause blindness if consumed.
