Aqualime Tree

This short fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 29 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, twisting trunk covered in paper-thin, silky, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is dark brown.

The branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with very large amounts of giant, umbrella-shaped leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are sky blue and lime.

In early spring, it produces dozens of small, hazel blossoms with perforated petals with a tube-like floral cup. They detach easily and have a weak scent that smells like a man.

In early autumn it produces tiny, circular fruit. The waxy deep green skin is thick and sweet, and the slightly crunchy aquamarine flesh is sweet and oily. The crimson seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.
