Aquafruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 18 feet (5.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 53 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, straight trunk covered in delicate, wrinkled, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the very hard wood is pale brown-grey.

The small clumps of branches are short, thin and wispy and are covered with thick bunches of large, long, tapering leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are slate and cyan.

In early spring, it produces several small, intense orange blossoms with circular petals. They fall easily and have the faintest scent that smells like new books.

In mid-summer it produces tiny, fan-like fruit. The rough violet skin is thin and inedible, and the slightly crunchy aquamarine flesh is bitter and dry. The lime seeds are small and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.
