Clinging Oak

Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This colossal tree grows up to 122 meters (400.3 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 429 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a long and flexible, curved trunk covered in thin, wrinkled, dark gray bark, and inside, the very dense wood is yellow.

The tangled mess of branches are short stubs and are covered with handfuls of smooth, miniature, thin leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are copper on the edges and dark yellow at the center.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of giant, bronze blossoms with 4 V-shaped shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a delicate scent that smells like mango.

In late summer it forms small, silver, shelled seeds.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It is suitable for making strong rope
