Climbing Lilacvine

Climbing plant type: Bine (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This modest-sized bine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 47 feet (14.3 meters)0. It prefers to grow on specific trees.

It takes 3 years for the red stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 5 inches (13 cm) and are tough and woody.

The sickle shaped, sticky leaves reach up to 1.0 foot (30 cm) in length. They are either dark grey or dark brown, with lilac dots, and have smooth edges.

During late spring, the bine produces balls of tiny bronze flowers.
