Clingshine

Flower type: Perennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short flower grows up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. Its sky blue or olive stem is very thin, and the tiny, pink-red leaves are light gray on the underside and are 4 pointed with serrated edges. The leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

Hundreds of small flowers grow in drooping bunches like grapes. The flowers are 17 cm (6.7 inches) wide, with washed-out yellow petals that gradient shift to azure on the outer edge. The central disk is green. The flower head is largely flat with dozens of tightly layered narrow petals. They are hardy.

It has a delicate scent that smells like cotton, and it has lots of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator.

The seeds are toxic to people but not to certain animals.
