Cliffvine

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This huge fruit tree grows up to 56 feet (17.1 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 26 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a slender, straight trunk covered in waxy, dark brown bark, and inside, the flexible wood is burgundy-brown.

The branches are long and thin and are covered with very large amounts of large, crescent-shaped leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are found in faded purple and faded purple varieties.

In early spring, it produces many small, purple blossoms with asymmetrical petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have an intensely strong scent that smells like cotton.

In mid-summer it produces small, spherical fruit. The fuzzy cream skin is delicate and edible when boiled; it is extremely spicy, and the soft hazel flesh is spicy and very juicy. The silver seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
