When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a small, gold tuft.
During the late autumn, it produces copious amounts of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions, and after flowering, it is left with lots of small grains.
It can survive a long time without water.
It is bio-luminescent.
