Silverleaf Oak

This big tree grows up to 79 meters (259.2 feet) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 100 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, angular trunk covered in paper-thin, smooth, burgundy bark, and inside, the flexible wood is black with white speckles.

The small handful of branches are short stubs and are covered with sparse amounts of waxy, tiny, spear shaped leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are silver with gold tips.

In late summer it forms tiny, pink aril (seeds with fleshy covers).

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.
