Duskberry Tree

This colossal fruit tree grows up to 61 feet (18.6 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 26 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a very thick, angular trunk covered in very thick, smooth, burgundy bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is white with black speckles.

The branches trail down across the ground and are covered with thick bunches of tiny, asymmetrical leaves with jagged edges. The leaves themselves are dark grey and silver.

In early spring, it produces several small, red blossoms with sickle shaped petals. They are hardy and have a strong scent that smells like coconut.

In early winter it produces , shield-shaped fruit. The crispy sky blue skin is delicate and salty, and the crunchy magenta flesh is sour and oily. The cream seed is very large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
