Crimson Emerald Moss

This red moss is commonly found growing in small clumps On trees, In damp forests, and In bogs.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they are exceptionally hardy, and is slightly rigid.
When mature, emerald circular capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release hundred of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.
