Bogfire Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found growing in large clumps In bogs.
It is short, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps, and is very resilient; it is very difficult to kill.
When mature, emerald flame-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early autumn to release thousands of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
