Burgundy Weave Tree

This small tree grows up to 4 meters (13.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 275 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, straight trunk covered in very thick, cracked, burgundy and brown bark, and inside, the very dense wood is burgundy-brown.

The small bunches of branches are long, thin and wispy, with hundreds of twigs covered with large amounts of small, purple or faded green needles. The needles themselves are flimsy.

In late summer it produces large, hazel, tough-shelled seeds.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
