Copperbell

This short flower grows up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. Its gray-green stem is very thin and straight, and the large, copper leaves are finger-like with jagged edges. Many leaves grow along the entire length of the stem.

Each stem splits 4 to 8 times; a single giant flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 4 cm (1.6 inches) wide, with petals that are orange on the underside and azure on the top. The flower head is largely flat with 16 tightly layered narrow petals. They are very delicate.

It has an intensely strong scent that smells like vanilla, and it has lots of pollen; it can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird and is ignored by most insect species.
