Black Petalvine

Flower type: Perennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This average-sized flower grows up to 10 inches (25 cm) tall. Its pink-red stem is very thin and straight, and the tiny, yellow leaves are pleated with smooth edges. The leaves grow from the base and are the same length as the stem.

Dozens of medium-sized flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 16 cm (6.3 inches) wide, with cream petals that gradient shift to black on the outer edge. The central disk is cyan. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 17 curved petals. They are sturdy.

It has a scent that varies in strength that smells like lemon, and it has very little pollen, but can cause severe allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects and is enjoyed by several specific types of insect.

It absorbs an exceptionally large amount of water each day.
It coexists peacefully with other plants.
