Bloodvine

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This modest-sized leaf succulent grows up to 47 feet (14.3 meters) tall. The finger-like stem is gray, and is covered in sharp spines. The pebble-like leaves are either silver, or dark grey with blood red edges. Very large amounts of them grow on slender, moss green branches that trail down across the ground. The leaves are flimsy, but detach easily.

It is slow growing, taking 41 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a single flower with light brown petals and a yellow center grows at the top, reappearing after 9 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is largely flat with 14 raised round-tipped petals. It has a weak scent that smells like rotten egg.

The leaf succulent's skin is rock-hard, the aquamarine flesh is rubbery, and the amber sap is thin.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
