Bluebell

This short caudiciform grows up to 10 feet (3.0 meters) tall. The thick stem is yellow-green, and is covered in brittle caramel spines. It has a straight, very thick, olive trunk atop a very thick mess of ridged, exposed roots. The branches are stocky and orange-yellow and olive and are short and thin.

The smooth-edged, stiff, pointed leaves are generally sky blue. They are robust, and are very difficult to pull away.

It is steady-growing, taking 8 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with petals that are crimson in the center, pale yellow in the middle and gold at the edges grow at the top, reappearing after 3 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is largely flat with 54 raised round-tipped petals. It has a faint scent that smells like rotten egg.

The caudiciform's skin is thick, the cream flesh is rubbery, and the lilac sap is thin.
