This short creeper is a quick growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 22 feet (6.7 meters) and growing as high as 861 feet (262.4 meters).

It takes 7 months for the brown stems to mature, by which point they can reach a diameter of 3 cm (1.2 inches) and are smooth and woody.

The thick, waxy leaves reach up to 6 inches (15 cm) in length. They are solid yellow or lilac, with copper patches, and have serrated edges.

During late spring, the creeper produces lots of small beige flowers, and during the late autumn, after flowering, it produces lots of very large seed pods.

The leaves and petals are often used to make tea.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
