Azurefruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This huge fruit tree grows up to 51 feet (15.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 53 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, slanted trunk covered in very thick, ridged, brown and grey bark, and inside, the flexible wood is yellow-brown.

The small handful of branches are short and thick and are covered with very large amounts of tiny, fan-like leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are moss green with aquamarine tips.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of giant, olive blossoms with needle-like petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a strong scent that smells like a woman.

In early winter it produces , needle-like fruit. The waxy black skin is thin and inedible, and the very soft azure flesh is sweet and syrupy. The black seeds are tiny and are bunched at the bottom of the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It makes a distinctive sound when the wind blows through it.
