Caramel Willow

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 176 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has dozens of long and flexible, wavy stems covered in paper-thin, smooth, yellow bark, and the wood inside is brown.

The branches trail down towards the ground with thousands of twigs that and are covered with thick bunches of tiny, crescent-shaped, leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are beige on the edges and caramel at the center, resilient and clammy.

In mid-spring it produces large amounts of small, grey flowers with pleated petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are very delicate and have a soft scent that smells like lavender.
