Purple Creeper

This colossal creeper is a very slow growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 2,811 feet (856.8 meters) and growing as high as 178 feet (54.3 meters).

It takes 46 years for the green stems to mature, by which point they have tangled themselves into thick mats with a diameter of 4.6 feet (1.4 meters) and are smooth and woody.

The crescent-shaped, rough leaves reach up to 3.3 feet (1.0 meters) in length. They are found in lime and amber varieties, and have rounded edges.

During late spring, the creeper produces thousands of large bold purple flowers, and during the late autumn, after flowering, it produces a modest amount of small fruits.
