Brown Heath Moss

This brown moss is commonly found growing in tiny clumps In heathlands, In moorlands, and In rainy mountain ranges.
It is giant, growing up to 1.0 foot (30 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches and they overwhelm an area rapidly, and is overwhelmingly flimsy.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release millions of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.

It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It is excellent at collecting and storing carbon dioxide
It is almost impossible to grow from cuttings.
