Brown Moss

This brown moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas In heathlands, and In damp forests.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches, and is very resilient; it is very difficult to kill.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release millions of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
