Bluefruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This big fruit tree grows up to 35 feet (10.7 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 25 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a knobbly, slanted trunk covered in smooth, yellow-brown bark, and inside, the light wood is black.

The branches are short stubs and are covered with thick bunches of tiny, fan-like leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are orange and vibrant blue.

In early spring, it produces dozens of small, silver blossoms with sickle shaped petals. They fall easily and have an intensely strong scent that smells like mint.

In mid-autumn it produces , cuboid fruit. The crispy peach skin is peel-able and edible when cooked; it is extremely sour, and the slightly crunchy blue flesh is savoury and very juicy. The grey seeds are tiny and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with patches of undergrowth between them.

All of it is said to be part of one single, massive plant.
Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
It usually houses a colony of beneficial insects.
