Grass type: Biennial (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This modest-sized, orange-yellow grass grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The sickle shaped stalks grow in sparse patches that are resistant and they are slow to spread and grow.
When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, bronze puff.
During the early autumn, it produces very little pollen, and after flowering, it is left with excessive amounts of tiny grains.
It can flourish even in standing water.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
