Silverpetal

Flower type: Biennial (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short flower grows up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. Its yellow-green stems grow in bunches of 7 and are thick with a curved tip, and the small, red leaves are needle-like with smooth edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

Several small flowers grow along the length of the stem. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with solid silver petals decorated with silver lines and a dark brown central disk. The flower head is made up of many petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight bowl. They fall easily.

It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like bleach, and it has very little pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also visited by some specific types of insect.
