Aquamarine Succulent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This small leaf succulent grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall. The stiff, pointed stem is emerald and olive, and is covered in handfuls of rigid muted green spines. The lumpy leaves are either aquamarine, or blood red with sky blue edges. Large amounts of them grow on round, silver branches that are short stubs. The leaves are durable, but easily come away when pulled.

It is quick growing, taking 9 months to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with alternating petals of cream and aquamarine, with a white central disk grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is shaped like a star with 32 raised, round-tipped petals. It has a delicate scent that smells like grass cuttings.

The leaf succulent's skin is rock-hard, the florescent orange flesh is waxy, and the blue sap is thin.

Ivy often grows along the trunk.
