Amber Fruit Tree

This short fruit tree grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 54 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, crooked trunk covered in thick, waxy, dark green bark, and inside, the hard wood is burgundy.

The small handful of branches are short and thin and are covered with large amounts of huge, 4 pointed leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are found in orange, dark brown and amber varieties.

In early spring, it produces bunches of giant, white blossoms with long, tapering petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like fresh linen.

In early winter it produces , long, tapering fruit. The clammy vivid yellow skin is tough and edible when cooked; it is sweet, and the soft magenta flesh is spicy and powdery. The green seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with clear space between them.
