Lilac

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 41 years. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has several flexible, slanted stems covered in thin, rough, yellow-brown bark, and the wood inside is gray.

The branches trail down across the ground with thousands of twigs that and are covered with handfuls of huge, wispy, leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are lilac and florescent blue, flimsy and waxy.

In early spring it produces a thick sheet of medium-sized, faded red flowers with fan-like petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have the faintest scent that smells like lemon.
