Copperleaf

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall and lives for around 56 years. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of narrow, straight stems covered in hard, waxy, brown-green bark, and the wood inside is silver.

The branches are short stubs that and are covered with large amounts of giant, broad, flat, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either blue, or yellow with brilliant yellow patches, tough and smooth.

It produces a handful of tiny, copper flowers with shield-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have an overpowering scent that smells like mint. In late winter it forms medium-sizedbrilliant green seed pods.
