Bloodvine

This average-sized cactus grows up to 40 feet (12.2 meters) tall. It splits at the base to form 6 slender, pointed stems. Each stem is yellow-green, and is covered in handfuls of fine, blood red, hair-like spines. The spherical body is emerald and yellow, and is covered in hundreds of rigid blood red spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 35 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with solid purple petals decorated with caramel dots and a peach central disk, grow at the top, reappearing once every 2 years. The flower head is made up of many petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight tube. It has a strong scent that smells like soap.

The cactus's skin is tough, the indigo flesh is soft, and the vibrant green sap is thin and causes diarrhea if consumed.
