Skyfruit Tree

This huge fruit tree grows up to 62 feet (18.9 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 82 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, slanted trunk covered in cracked, dark green bark, and inside, the very dense wood is burgundy-brown.

The abundance of branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with thick bunches of huge, circular leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either caramel, or sky blue with subtle green splotches.

In early spring, it produces thousands of medium-sized, drab red blossoms with long, tapering petals. They are very delicate and have an overpowering scent that smells like roses.

In early autumn it produces large, circular fruit. The waxy beige skin is peel-able and sweet and sour, and the slightly crunchy sky blue flesh is sweet and syrupy. The subtle yellow seed is small and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.
