Caramel

This short cactus grows up to 12 feet (3.7 meters) tall. The slender, pointed stem is yellow-green, and is covered in brittle beige spines.

It is steady-growing, taking 16 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a handful of flowers, with alternating petals of caramel and olive, with an aquamarine central disk, grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is largely flat with 55 raised narrow petals. It has an intense scent that smells like new books.

The cactus's skin is nearly impenetrable, the blood red flesh is leathery, and the aquamarine sap is thin.
